It was millions of years ago when man's curiosity about the world began. For almost 20 centuries past, man had explored almost the corners of the earth and the universe. Within this period, man had built countless skyscrapers, long bridges and famous expressways that only proved the cleverness of man. With this advancement in the field of technology, do you ever imagine what would be the future of the world and the kind of lives of the next generations? What indeed would be the future of mankind 10 centuries from now?
Because of the high intelligence of man he discovers new things that can help him in his everyday life. Many of our works/jobs become easier and faster through the help of the latest machines. Many of the deadly diseases are prevented or cured through the continued studies and discoveries in the field of medicine. Some of our body parts can already be artificially replaced. We can even go to such length as deceive time and postpone the inevitable.
Despite these achievements' however, our mother earth is in danger. Because of the ambitions of mankind, they had neglected the disadvantages that come with most of their discoveries and inventions. Many of our rivers, seas, oceans, and other bodies of waters are now polluted by different toxics emitted by mining companies, metal and plastic industries and pharmaceutical factories.
Our atmosphere is heavily loaded with carbon monoxide and other poisonous gases from vehicles and machineries. Our ozone layer is continually being destroyed as days pass by. The continued study and inventions of biological and nuclear weapons and power plants had killed hundred of lives and threatened unimaginable destruction among mankind and its habitat.
If all these things and advancement continue, there is a huge possibility that time will come when robots and clones will invade our homeland. It may result to the destruction of the earth. All of these can result to the extinction of thousands of different species including us, mankind.
Advancement is not bad. But before doing anything be sure to think of the grave consequences and huge disadvantages of a particular discovery. Too much advancement may lead to the destruction of our world and mankind. Always bear in mind that there is only one place where man can live and survive, the EARTH.
